About Me

My photo
I've been married to my husband, Michael, for almost 25 years. I'm a mom to a biological son and an adopted son from Colombia, and I'm also a spiritual mom to my adopted son's older brother, who I claim as a son in my heart. I'm bilingual and love to work with and relate to Spanish-speaking children and families. I've been a teacher to students from all sorts of backgrounds and cultures for the last 20+ years. I'm also an author and a certified Biblical counselor. I'm in a new empty nest season in a new location far from where I raised my boys, so I'm definitely in a stage of rediscovering myself, my interests, and my purpose.

A day to remember

Wishing a happy 14th birthday today to my sweet Colombian princess.

I still pray for her daily, and I hope God allows our paths to cross again. I've asked for help so Juan can reconnect with her, but so far, our search has not led us anywhere.

We still celebrate her special day, though. Juan acted a little uncomfortable this time, but Julian appreciated it and likes knowing that we still celebrate both of them.

Guess what special delivery arrived, precisely on this special day? My books! I've already sold 3 of them, have had a few more requests, and I'll be set up to sell and sign them this weekend at church.
Looking forward to seeing how God uses these books.

I find it no coincidence that the book launched on Julian's birthday, and then the books arrived on their sister's birthday.

Beauty from ashes.
